little Krapfen

These little donuts are perfect for the next party. You can serve them with or without a creamy filling, sometimes I place a little bowl of homemade vanilla pudding next to them to dip them in.

Little Vanilla Krapfen

ingredients

dough

125g quark (less than 20% fat)
2 eggs
100g sugar
5 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 tbsp. milk
250 g flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 pinch of salt

Vegetable oil for baking
Sugar to roll them in
if you like: some Vanilla Pudding to fill or dip them in

For the dough, mix all ingredients together until you have a smooth dough. In the meantime, heat the oil.

Cut off small amounts with the help of 2 spoons and fry in the hot fat until golden brown. Drain on a paper towel.

Sprinkle with sugar. Fill them with Vanilla Pudding if you like or just dip them in.

 

TIP: If you prefer a savoury alternative, you can also fill or dip them in sour cream and herbs. Of course, they would not be covered in sugar beforehand but slightly sprinkled with some salt.
